Abby's Adventures
Abby's Adventures is a TFCU Savings Program for Children, 0 to 12 Years of Age. The Abby's Adventures Saving Program was designed to help parents and grandparents teach children and grandchildren about the importance of saving money. The program is designed to teach this serious lesson through a fun, enjoyable approach. Your child will learn how to save money and why to save money!

How does the Program Work?

Your child's account is just like your savings account. It earns dividends, there is no monthly service charge, and it only requires a $25 minimum balance. To help your child get started, just fill out a membership card listing the parent(s)/guardian(s) as the joint owner(s). Kids can then begin to make deposits into their very own savings account. Taking this step will put your child on the road to a lifelong relationship with the credit union.

Making Learning Fun!

Upon opening an account, your child will receive an Identification Card, Record Keeper and Beagle Buck Saver. These items will make saving easier and help teach your child how to track their savings. As your child brings money to the credit union to deposit, they will receive one Beagle Buck for each $5.00 they deposit into their account. The maximum is 20 Beagle Bucks in one month. When your child saves a particular number of Beagle Bucks, they can redeem them by purchasing items from the Beagle Buck Store. They must be redeemed in person, by the child. (Exceptions to this policy may be made by TFCU Branch Management.) When Beagle Bucks are cashed in, the child or co-owner will be required to sign off stating they have redeemed their Bucks for an item from the Beagle Buck Store. Throughout the course of the year, special offers and events will be available. Specific details will be provided at the time of the offer or event. Adventurers will also receive a periodic newsletter, Birthday Card from Abby and much more!

Special Prizes

Here is a list of some of the neat stuff you can get with your Beagle Bucks.

*GUARDIANS - To qualify for a U.S. savings bonds, a minimum of $100 must be deposited into an Abby's Adventures Account per month for three consecutive months totaling $300 at the end of the third month. The Abby's Adventures Account must have a minimum $300 balance at the end of the third month to purchase the U.S. savings bond with Beagle Bucks. The 50 Beagle Bucks required to purchase the savings bond will have had to been acquired within this three month consecutive period of time and not over the course of a year or something to that effect. (There will be other offers available to your children with Beagle Bucks beyond the three month time frame of the savings bond.)

An Abby's Adventures Account is allowed one savings bond within a three months consecutive period of time, provided they meet the requirements of this offer. This includes, not taking the money out of their account and re-depositing it, or depositing $300 in one lump sum at the end of the third month. After the age of 12, Abby's Adventures accounts move up to the Young Texans (ages 13-17).
